  • To formulate rules, regulations and policy regarding the medium & large scale industry according to changing environment and implement them.

  • To implement rules, regulation and policy in respect to foreign investment.

  • To perform promotional activities on industrial investment and disseminate knowledge and information in that respect.

  • To issue license to prescribed industries and to register all the medium and large scale industries.

  • To provide service and incentives to the industrialist on the basis of existing rules, laws and policy.

  • To work as focal point of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and to provide services related to industrial property (i.e. Patent, Design & Trademark).

  • To make the industrialist aware about the criteria of environment and adopt those criteria in industries for which the license is required.

  • To approve the industrial project of foreign investment and provide them consultancy service through providing data, information and replying their queries.

  • To monitor about the establishment and operation of Manufacturing Industries.

  • To recommend for the issuance of the Certificate of Origin for industrial product for export to India.

  • To take necessary actions for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Initial Environment Examination (IEE) under Environment Protection Act and Regulation.
